Florence DePalma, age 99, of Newtown, passed away peacefully April 25, 2019, at River Glen Health Care Center, Southbury.

Florence was a woman who always loved life. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and entertaining her family members every weekend. Her home was open to everyone at any time. Florence also enjoyed going to the Newtown Senior Center, where she participated in many activities. She played Mrs Santa Claus every Christmas, went on trips, and made friends that got together to celebrate each other’s birthday. Florence lived a long life due to her positive attitude. She will surely be missed.

Florence’s family wishes to thank all the caretakers at River Glen who got to know Florence.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Francis DePalma, Sr, and is survived by a son, Francis DePalma, Jr, and his wife, Ilene, of Middlebury.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery.

Arrangements were in care of Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
