Florencia R.       de Isgut

Florencia (Roman) de Isgut, 95, mother of Alexander E. Isgut, MD, of Newtown, died on December 24, in Mendoza, Argentina, in the company of her loving son and daughter-in-law, Doraliza (Saldena) Isgut.

She was born in Mendoza, Argentina, on June 19, 1905, the daughter of Don Peregrino Roman and Dona Clemencia Gil.

Mrs de Isgut was one of ten siblings, in a family that pioneered the development of farming and the settlement of the town of Rivadavia, Argentina. Mrs de Isgut graduated from Teachers School in 1924 but her true love was fashion design. She excelled in this field in Buenos Aires, Cordoba, and Mendoza, Argentina. The last 30 years of her life were spent between Mendoza and Newtown.

Mrs de Isgut’s grandchildren, Heidi of Hamburg, Germany, Maria Adriana of Kinston, N.H., and Alejandro Virgilio of Newtown remember their grandmother for her fortitude, graciousness, and her innate sense of elegance.

The funeral and burial took place in Villa Nueva, Mendoza.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in Newtown, upon the return of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the charity of one’s choice.
