avv/gs set 2-27#689876

ALBANY, N.Y. — The Mountain Toy & Railroad Club will hold a toy and train show on Sunday, March 18, at the Polish Community Center, Washington Avenue Extension from 9 am to 2 pm.

The show will feature dealers offering toys and trains made by most of the major manufacturers in all the popular gauges including N, HO, O scale, Lionel O, 0–27, Standard, LGB and American Flyer S gauge.

Replacement parts, especially for the old Lionel and American Flyer trains, catalogs from the past, books on all phases of the hobby, wind up tin toys, cast iron banks, pressed steel trucks and soldiers will also be shown.

Operating train layouts provided by local train enthusiasts will represent the most popular scales and gauges. These layouts have always been a major part of the show especially with the younger crowd. In “O” gauge there will be the TTOS Empire and Eastern Division with their large modular layout running all kinds of locomotives and trains. The Catskill, Adirondack and Berkshire Model Railroad with a layout in HO gauge will be operating several trains simultaneously. Also a large N gauge layout will be displayed by the Albany-N-Trak club.

Free appraisals will be available at the show for anyone with an old toy or train. The club’s train doctor will be on hand with his test track to help those in need of getting their old trains running again.

For more information, contact Mary Lou Washburn at 518-828-7902 from 6 to 9 pm.
