MARBELLA GALLERY WILL PRESENT SUMMER VIEWS JUNE 12

avv/gs 5-30 #701246

NEW YORK CITY — The Marbella Gallery is mounting an exhibit of summer scenes capturing nostalgic views of Nineteenth and early Twentieth Century America. “Summer Views of Nature’s Splendor” will be on view June 12–September 7.

The gallery has assembled more than 30 paintings of American artists of the Nineteenth and early Twentieth Century. Some of the featured artists include George Inness, Alexander Wyant, Homer Martin, Robert Reid, Henry Peters Gray, A.T. Bricher, Eliot Clark, Robert Hallowell, Samuel Brecher, J. Francis Murphy and William Trost Richards.

“The drama of the Nineteenth Century interpretation of nature’s transitory and emotional facets,” Mildred Thaler Cohen, gallery director said, “is a challenge to a modern reappraisal in the light of today’s vision of intellectual pictorial poetry.”

The gallery is at 28 East 72nd Street. For information, 212-288-7809.
