Police said Michael Janssen, 38, of  Trumbull came to the police station on the morning of May 31 after learning police had a warrant for his rearrest.

Police charged Janssen with first-degree failure to appear in court and first-degree robbery concerning his failure to appear in Danbury Superior Court in connection with a first-degree robbery charge pending against him.

Police had initially arrested Janssen February 16 on a first-degree robbery charge stemming from a November 21, 2000, incident at the Blue Colony Diner on Church Hill Road. In that case, Janssen allegedly entered a back door of the diner and threatened an employee with a weapon, stole money from the employee, and fled the scene.

Police were scheduled to present Janssen in court May 31.
