DANBURY — Newtown Girl Scout Troop 50674 recently donated an assortment of gift baskets to Danbury Hospital. Troop members assembled the gift baskets as part of their Silver Award Project.

The baskets included a variety of items such as coloring books, crayons, DVDs, blankets, and other items. This is the first time the troop has donated items to benefit pediatric patients at Danbury Hospital.

Troop 50674 wanted to do something to give back to others. Troop members said they hoped this donation would brighten the day of the recipients.

As a result of their efforts, Girl Scout Troop 50674 has been inducted into the Western Connecticut Health Network Kids Care Club at Danbury Hospital, a philanthropic organization for children and young adults under the age of 18.

“We are so grateful for the thoughtfulness of these wonderful young girls,” said Executive Director and Vice President of the Western Connecticut Health Network Kids Care Club Grace Linhard.

For more information on the Kids Care Club, call the Western Connecticut Health Network Foundation office at 203-739-7227 or 860-210-5270.
