GIRLS C/D DIVISION

STRIKERS 6, DYNAMITE 2: Lauren Herbert, Danielle Springmeyer and Courtney Brunton scored key goals to lead the Strikers. Brianna Barry was solid in goal. For the Dynamite, Danielle Nicolosi and Sophie Cerreta scored. Lindsay Beck and Jessica Lively played well.

RED HOTS 4, TOES OF FIRE 0: Elaine McCafferty scored three goals and Emma MacHugh added one as the Red Hots blanked the Toes of Fire. Kristen DeCesare and Olga Virgalla played well. For the Toes, Mia Rosetti and Ashley Hughes were strong in the midfield.

GIRLS E DIVISION

TORNADOES 4, TIGERS 0: Katie Bowen scored four goals as the Tornadoes blanked the Tigers. Ally Modzelewski (2), Molly Day and Kelly Anne Brophy provided all the assists. For the Tigers, Katie McMorran, Samantha Dinnan, Katie Cummings and Michelle Davies all played well.

TORPEDOES 2, TIGERS 0: Emily Boncek and Rebecca Reed scored the goals that lifted the Torpedoes to the win. Marina Virgella and Stacey Broughton played solid defense. For the Tigers, Jillian Spies played well in the net while Tara Belmont and Ashley Davis had nice performances.

RAPTORS 1, RAPIDS 0: Jen Brill scored the lone goal of the game to lead the Raptors to the win. Meaghan McCarthy and Chelsea Liker had solid games, as did Jessice Tonucci and Sammy Carlisle. For the Rapids, Libby Feltch and Christine Beck led the offense while Sarah Peck and Alana Gilbert paced the defense.

TIGERS 3, PANDA BEARS 0: Sarah Shannon, Carolyn Gingras and Meaghan Brophy each scored a goal to lead the Tigers to the win. Olivia Dillon had a solid, all-around game. For the Pandas, Nicole Finkenstadt, Alexandra Napier-Ruzek and Brianna Liotta all played well.

NIGHTMARE 1, BOMBERS 0: Katie Powers scored the lone goal on an assist from Kelsey Phillips to lead the Nightmare to the win. Emily Lockhart and Lisa Favicchia were solid in goal. For the Bombers, Lindsay Laub, Katie Marsden and Sidney Russell played well.

BOYS E DIVISION

COYOTES 6, HURRICANES 4: Kyle Droniak scored a pair of goals while Joe Cappiello, Harrison Gillis, Steven Musco and Stephen Sapienza scored one apiece to lead the Coyotes past the Hurricanes. Eric Rardin played well on defense. For the Hurricanes, Peter Leone scored three times and Dan Cassidy scored once. Stephen Dworkin and Alex DiNoto led the defense.

PANTHERS 1, ROADRUNNERS 1: Peter Walsh of the Panthers and Bobby Davenport of the Roadrunners scored the goals in this 1-1 tie. For the Panthers, Max Baudisch and Bryan Reeser were strong on offense as Kyle Hufziger and Ian McEmber powered the defense. For the Roadrunner, Jake Woolf had the assist while Nick Ciarelli supported the offense. Stephen Ashbolt and Jeffrey Brown did fine jobs on D.

EAGLES 5, CHEETAHS 2: Ricky Gallucci scored a pair of goals and Jacob Dauz, Matt Hill and Bijan Hughes added one each to lead the Eagles to the win. Brian Cantor and Cody Cullens also had good games. For the Cheetahs, Matthew Samuelsson scored both goals as Dave Klanica, Spencer Scott, Adam Buccino and Michael Daily had good games.

LIGHTNING 5, TORNADOES 1: Tyler Edwards scored a pair of goals and Ryan Hudock, Keith McGrath and Sam Morrisson added one goal apiece as the Lightning shocked the Tornadoes. For the Tornadoes, Kevin Dufner scored the goal while Alexander Hamilton, Evan Sapienza and Matthew Yakush played well.

GIRLS F DIVISION

ROCKETS 1, LIGHTNING 1: Stephanie Arndt of the Rockets and Hannah Basch-Gould of the Lightning scored the goals in this 1-1 deadlock. For the Rockets, Laetitia de Brantes assisted on the goal while Abby Keough and Nicole Vournazos had solid performances. For the Lightning, Michelle Salem had an assist while Meredith LaPerch and Jamie Keating played well on defense.

BOYS F DIVISION

DRAGONS 3, TIGERSHARKS 0: The Tigersharks put forth a strong offensive attack led by Scott Wexler and William Arndt, but the defense of the Dragons managed to hold on and shutout the opposition.  Luke Fiore scored twice along with Gregory Campbell for the Dragons, while Ben Morrison and Chris Miller played well in both midfield and on defense.  Andre Cappoziello was a standout in goal for the Tigersharks in the fourth quarter.

FLYING PIZZAS 2, SHARKS 1: Alex Neufeld and Andy Hsu scored the goals that lifted the Pizzas to a win over the Sharks. Marc Reyes played well. For the Sharks, Josh Engler scored while Bryan Czel and Matt Yitts had solid games.

TORPEDOES 3, ROADRUNNERS 0: Daniel Clement scored three goals to lift the Torpedoes to the win. Kyle Wildman and Mathew McGowan played well as Benjamin Miles and Bryan Wicki anchored the defense. For the Roadrunners, Patrick Binio was solid in goal and Zach Bryan played well at midfield.

TORNADOES 5, HURRICANES 0: Ryan Donnegan and Troy Deakin scored two goals apiece as the Tornadoes blanked the Hurricanes. Ryan Korth added a solo goal off an assist from Zach Dent. Evan Alpert and Mark Malia led the defense. For the Hurricanes, Aaron Nezvesky led the offense while Mark Agugliaro and Matt Hoffman had good games.

BOYS U10 TRAVEL

NEW FAIRFIELD 1, NEWTOWN 0: Newtown played yet another very tight game where they controlled the action throughout, yet lost to New Fairfield 1- 0. Ethan Carotti, Mickey Fay, Kurt Nacewicz, Connor Collier, and Ryan Goodridge had solid games in midfield. Conor McManus played a tremendous game on defense, and Daniel Quinn came up with some  big saves in goal.

GIRLS U10 TRAVEL

HURRICANES 3, WATERTOWN 0:   Nora Lynn Shimko, Emily Weber and Megan Hansen scored the goals that lifted the Hurricanes to the win. Haley Keane and Emily DeMarco led a strong defensive effort.

GIRLS U11 TRAVEL

NAVIGATORS 3, NEW MILFORD 3: Harriet Morgan, Eva Cerreta and Rachel Maley scored goals in the first half as the ‘Gators jumped out to a commanding lead, but with 10 minutes left in the second half New Milford peppered the goal until it had scored three times to salvage the tie. Ashley Braun and Sammie Ciaccia played well.

NAVIGATORS 3, BROOKFIELD 1: Rachel Maley scored two goals and Eva Cerreta scored one (assisted by Maley) to lead the Navigators to the win. Jackie Petrasanta, Christie Attansio, Jackie Schulz, Sammie Ciaccia and keeper Bethany Morin all had solid games.

BOYS U11 TRAVEL

VIPERS 6, WATERTOWN 0: Max Hoagland scored a pair of goals while Paul Andra, Danny Smith,_Ethan Canfield and Anthony Florez added one goal apiece in a shutout of Watertown. Drew Taylor and Nick Kallivrousis played well.

GIRLS U12 TRAVEL

WATERTOWN 2, NITROS 0: An undefeated Watertown and a freak snowstorm got the best of the Nitros as they dropped a close game. The contest was kept tight due to great defense from Rose Jackman, Meredith Palo, and Mary-Ellen Sloan. On the offensive side of the ball, Jennifer Greenwood, Rachel Eastman and Jennifer Blauvelt let a strong attack.

BOYS U12 TRAVEL

NEWTOWN 5, WATERTOWN 2: Justin Durelli scored a pair of goals and added an assist to lead Newtown to the win. Jack Quinn, Joseph Rahtelli and Michael Klein each had a goal and assist. Ross MacLeod had an assist, as well, while Eric MacKnight and Nick Sando played well.

GIRLS U13 TRAVEL

ROCKETS 4, TRUMBULL 0 (State Cup Quarter-finals): Mary Anders scored three goals to lead the Rockets past Trumbull in the State Cup quarter-finals. Siobhan Cooper had a goal and an assist while Erin Clark had a pair of assists. Emily Fields and Elyssa Samsel were strong on defense, helping limit Trumbull to just two shots on goal and two corner kicks. Jill Tanner, Caitlin Hansen, and Mary Grace Ober had outstanding games in mid-field.

ROCKETS 5, NORWALK 2 (State Cup Semi-Finals): Siobhan Cooper scored three goals as the Rockets earned a spot in the State Cup finals with a win over Norwalk. Mary Anders had a goal and assist while Maria Cinquegrana had a goal and Alex Konneker had an assist. Jill Tanner and Caitlin_Hansen were tough in the midfield while Casey_Frobey, Elyssa Samsel, Emily Fields and goalie Tara Gaston anchored the D.

ROCKETS 8, SOUTHBURY 0: Six different players scored as the Rockets shut down Southbury on a snowy field at Treadwell Park. Mary Anders and Siobhan Cooper had two goals apiece while Tara Gaston, Caitlin Hansen, Jill Tanner, and Maria Cinquegrana each had a goal. Alex Konneker and Gaston has assists. Vicky Thomas and Hansen shared time in goal to earn the shutout. Kayla Mesko and Mary G. Ober played well.
