The bright green nail color being modeled is being used by Sandy Hook Promise as a fundraiser for its charitable work in the wake of 12/14. Sandy Hook residents Jennifer Stoltz and Dana Schicker contacted O*P*I to see if the company would be willing to create a special color “to help our community heal and as a way for others across the nation to connect and show their support, just by wearing the color,” according to a statement posted by the two women during the Salon-A-Thon. The company responded, and generously donated 10,000 bottles of the color, which had been selected and named by the two women. Ricci’s Salon & Spa, at 99 South Main Street, held a special event on Sunday, May 19: The Sandy Hook Green Salon-a-Thon. All services that were provided to customers included a bottle of Sandy Hook Green, a new, limited edition nail color created and donated by O*P*I Products, Inc. All proceeds benefited Sandy Hook Promise, a charity formed after 12/14. Among those participating at the event were, from left, Suzy DeYoung of Sandy Hook Promise, and also Jennifer Stoltz, and Dana Schicker. Ms Stoltz and Ms Schicker are mothers of Sandy Hook School first graders who survived 12/14. Ms Stoltz is holding a bottle of the nail polish.
