Grace C. Manheimer, 76, of Newtown, died March 31 at Danbury Hospital. She was born in The Bronx, N.Y., July 29, 1937, a daughter of Frances and Arthur Huston. She was the wife of the late Robert Manheimer.

A resident of Newtown since 1978, Mrs Manheimer was a teaching assistant at Hawley School for 32 years, and also volunteered in the school library and for the book buddy program. She had previously lived in Pelham, N.Y., and Norwalk.

Her daughters, Jennifer Caprio, and her husband John, of Bethel and Lauren Tannone, and her husband John, of New Milford; a brother, Walter Hutson of Newtown; and a grandson, John Caprio III, survive Mrs Manheimer. 

A graveside service will take place at 11 am, Thursday, April 3, at St Rose Cemetery, Cherry Street, Sandy Hook. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Wednesday, April 2, from 4 to 7 pm.
