Gymnasts Win Second Consecutive Meet

Newtown High School's gymnastics team won its second consecutive meet, coming out on top in a visit to Pomperaug of Southbury, on January 15.

The Nighthawks scored 131.40. Pomperaug was second with 125.850, and Oxford placed third with 122.150. Hannah Jojo got first first on vault and second in the all around, Ally Kenny placed second on vault and third in the all around, Brynn Reilly was fifth on vault, and Mary Locke sixth on vault, and Marisa Choi came in sixth on the balance beam.

Newtown won at New Milford on January 8, scoring 130.45 points. New Milford was second with 125.050, and Oxford third with 118.650. Kenny was first on bars and floor, second on beam, third on vault, and first in the all around. Jojo earned fourth on beam and floor, second on vault and bars, and was second in the all around. Reilly came in third on vault and bars, and Choi placed fifth on bars and beam.
