Harry J. Walsh

Harry J. Walsh, 86, of Sandy Hook, died September 5, at The Connecticut Hospice, Branford. He was born in Bridgeport, January 25, 1927, a son of Anna (Crinock) and John L. Walsh. Mr. Walsh was the husband of Rita (Gebeau) Walsh.

He grew up in the Huntington section of Shelton and served in the US Army during World War II. Before retirement, Mr Walsh was a carpenter for Union Local 210 of the Carpenters Union in Hamden and had previously been employed by Morganti Construction.

 An outdoorsman, Mr Walsh enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his son Jeffrey Walsh of Danbury; two daughters, Colleen Wallace of Woodbridge and Christine Anderson of Easley, S.C.; three sisters, Dorothy Pelletier of Sandy Hook, Sally Schiffer of Shelton, and Ann Bove of Bridgeport; two brothers, John Walsh of Vermont and Thomas Walsh of Shelton; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, Tuesday, September 10, at 10 am. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Monday, September 9, from 5 to 8 pm.
