Helping Children Deal
With Tragedy And Loss
DANBURY â The Danbury Library Junior Services Department will host a program called âHow Children Cope with Trauma and Lossâ on Saturday, November 10, from 1 to 2:30 pm, in the Farioly Program Room. Beth Bruno, a school psychologist and the author of Wild Tulips will provide parents, teachers, and those who care for children with tools in which to engage children in healthy outlets to express their fears and anxieties in times of crisis and loss. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions and participate in a dialogue with others about how to address their childrenâs concerns.
Ms Bruno has more than 25 years experience in working with children in the fields of mental health and education. She holds degrees from the University of California at Berkeley, Yeshiva, and Harvard Universities, and shares her child-rearing expertise though Internet and newspaper columns, magazines, as well as television, radio, and public speaking forums.
Ms Brunoâs book, Wild Tulips, provides valuable insights into raising children in todayâs complex society. The author lives in Meriden with her husband and children.
The program is free and registration is not required. Refreshments will be served. For additional information, contact the Junior Services Department at 797-4527. Danbury Library is at 170 Main Street, on the corner of West Street.
