Heredity Of Cancer,

Genetic Testing On Tap For Talk

SOUTHBURY — Anyone with questions about hereditary cancer risks, or questions about the benefits of genetic testing, is invited Tuesday, July 12, at 12:30 pm, when The Heritage Village Chapter of Hadassah features a talk by Ellen T. Matloff, MS, director of cancer genetic counseling at the Yale Cancer Center.

Ms Matloff will discuss who is at risk and who can benefit from genetic counseling and testing. She will explain how genetic counseling works and why.

Due to the complexities of this issue and the process involved, it is very important for individuals who are interested in pursuing cancer genetic counseling and testing to see a cancer genetic specialist.

This event will be held at the Meeting House Music Room at Heritage Village and will begin with refreshments. The speaker will begin at 1 pm.

There is no fee for this program and those not residing in Heritage Village are invited to attend. Registration is requested due to seating limitations. For questions or to RSVP phone Cary Strauss at 203-267-4150 or e-mail lwyrmom@charter.net
