Santa Claus may have been greeting guests outside the Edmond Town Hall on December 2 for the 33rd Annual Holiday Festival, but he was not the only celebrity in town for the occasion.

At the Kids’ Tea in the Edmond Town Hall’s Alexandria Room, there were special guests: Mrs Claus; Charlie Brown, Lucy, and Snoopy from the Peanuts gang; and even… the Grinch!

All were in good spirits while dancing on stage as children and their families participated in the organized sing-alongs with Mrs Claus.

Half a dozen holiday songs, including “Deck The Halls,” “Up On The House Top,” and “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” were featured in the sing-along booklet each person received.

During the merriment, Kids’ Tea attendees also got to enjoy snacks and a hot chocolate station, where they could customize their drink with whipped cream, marshmallows, chocolate chips, and crushed candy canes as toppings.

Proceeds from the 33rd Annual Holiday Festival went to benefit Newtown Youth & Family Services. For more information about the group, visit newtownyouthandfamilyservices.org or call 203-270-4335.

The Newtown High School (NHS) Singers had a special hour-long performance at the 33rd Annual Holiday Festival and performed a capella in the lobby of the Edmond Town Hall on December 2. Led by NHS Choral Director Jane Matson, the group of nearly a dozen students sang a variety of holiday classics and entertained the growing crowd that gathered around them.
