WASHINGTON — Did you know that Native Americans have served their country with the highest record of service per capita when compared with the general American population and to any other ethnic group? Each year, the Institute for American Indian Studies (IAIS) honors local Native Americans who have served in the United States Military. This year, IAIS will honor Charles Lindberg Kilson, Sr, of Sandy Hook, as well as the memory of his brother, Earl Anderson Kilson, Sr, both of the Schaghticoke Tribal Nation, Saturday, November 10, at noon, at IAIS, 38 Curtis Road, Washington.

The brothers served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Earl Kilson also served during the early years of the Vietnam War.

Join in a celebration to honor and remember these brothers, as well as all veterans, Native and non-Native. Following a traditional ceremony, participants, family members, and attendees are invited to a light lunch in the museum to learn more about the story of these two brothers.
