Craig Van Dyck Morrissey, 45, of Roswell, Ga., and formerly of Newtown, died in an automobile accident, May 8. He was the beloved son of Nancy R. Morrissey and the late Robert M. Morrissey.

His sister Elizabeth and brother-in-law Gary Kleiman of Alexandria, Va.; his niece and goddaughter Diana Kleiman; as well as two aunts and four cousins in Massachusetts survive Mr Morrissey.

Mr Morrissey graduated from Newtown High School, where he participated in the school choir, and marching and concert band, playing the French horn and trumpet. He graduated from New England College, Henniker, N.H., with a degree in communications/written journalism. In college he was active in sports, choir, and the college radio station. His first job was with his best friend, working on Jam Music Magazine.

In Georgia, where he moved when his father became ill, Mr Morrissey worked at Pike Nurseries, Wolf Camera, and several other companies.

He was an active parishioner at Christ Church Episcopal in Norcross where he sang in the choir, participated in the theater group and chaired the grounds committee.

He was best known for his great kindness and helpfulness to others. He was loved dearly by friends up and down the East Coast, and was a great supporter of local music groups. His family would like to thank the many friends who have sent or posted such lovely tributes noting his selflessness, kindness, and friendship.

A memorial service took place May 11 at Christ Church Episcopal, Norcross, Ga. Burial will be Saturday, June 8, in Amherst, Mass.
