Jane Pierwola

Jane M. Pierwola, 72, of Newtown died October 10 at Danbury Hospital after a long illness. She was born July 24, 1945, in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Marjorie Quinn Koerner and Philip J. Koerner.

She loved to travel the world and spent many years working in the travel industry. Ms Pierwola worked for the City of Danbury, in the tax department. Most recently she worked for Brighton Collectables in the Danbury Fair Mall until her retirement. She loved to cook, bake, read, go shopping, and give to others.

Her sons, Michael Pierwola of Newtown; Kevin Pierwola and his wife, Tisha, of Woodbury; and Christopher Pierwola of Plymouth; and her brother, Philip Koerner, and his wife Ginny, of Colorado survive her. Among all of Ms Pierwola survivors, her most prized possessions were her grandchildren, Eric and Leigha Pierwola.

Calling hours will be Saturday October 14, from 9 to 11 am, at Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School Street, Woodbury.

A Funeral Mass will be conducted at Saturday, October 14, at 11:30 am, at St Teresa of Avila Church, 146 Main Street South, Woodbury. Burial will follow at New North Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Woodbury.

Memorial contributions can be made in Ms Pierwola's memory to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington CT 06111.
