Jennifer L. "Jenny" Temple, 46, of Carmel, N.Y., died peacefully in her home on December 21, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 6, 1971, in Mount Kisco, N.Y., to Mary and John Temple. Ms Temple had cerebral palsy and lived with her devoted parents her entire life.

In addition to her parents, her sister, Julie Temple Stan, and her husband, Timothy Stan, of Newtown; her brother, John Temple, and his wife Lisa Sciallo Temple, of Brookfield; her adoring nieces and nephew; as well as her loving aunts, uncles, and cousins across the country survive her.

Ms Temple was a longtime member of Gilead Presbyterian Church in Carmel, N.Y. She attended United Cerebral Palsy's Hudson Valley Day Treatment in Patterson, N.Y., since her graduation from the Pines Bridge School BOCES in Yorktown Heights, N.Y., in 1992. Ms Temple was fortunate to have many dedicated teachers, therapists, nurses, and caregivers through the years, and stayed close to them throughout her life.

Ever the social butterfly, Ms Temple adored parties, music, and going to church. Her smile and infectious laugh could light up a room. She loved spending time with her nieces, nephew, and her many friends from Putnam Recreation Programs & Habilitation. Ms Temple was a founding participant of that organization, which provides high-quality recreational opportunities for children and adults with special needs who reside in Putnam County, N.Y. Ms Temple loved to bowl and participated in the Special Olympics for many years.

Visitation with friends and family will be Thursday, December 28, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm, at Balsamo-Cordovano Funeral Home, 15 Church Street, Carmel.

A celebration of Ms Temple's life will take place at a later date in the spring at Gilead Presbyterian Church.
