John Marshall Fraas

John Marshall Fraas, 79, of Bristol, formerly of Newtown, died peacefully at his home, May 27, with his wife Helen (Bowling) (Smith) Fraas, at his side. He was born in St Paul, Minn., July 1, 1933, a son of Jane Ines (Butel) and Marshall Fraas. 

Mr Fraas was a proud US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and lived in Newtown for 46 years. He had retired from Boehringer Ingelheim after many years of service. Mr Fraas and his wife enjoyed traveling.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Edward Smith, and his wife Krystal, of Enfield; two grandchildren; a sister, Mary Rosenbaum of St Paul; and his beloved dog. His first wife, Lillian (Brophy) Fraas; his parents; and his sisters, Loretta Cunningham and Jean Fraas, predeceased Mr Fraas.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service, Saturday, June 1, at 1 pm, at the Asbury Methodist Church, 90 Church Avenue, Forestville/Bristol. Burial with military honors is private, at the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. There are no calling hours.
