Joseph Giacobbe, Sr, 96, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Giuseppina Silano Giacobbe, died November 3 at Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center. Born in Flumeri, Province of Avellino, Italy, on April 5, 1921, he was a son of the late Angelo and Maria Felecia Masucci Giacobbe.

His children and their spouses, Phyllis and Charles Framularo of Newtown, Mary and Tony Autuori of Trumbull, and Joseph Jr and Julie Giacobbe of Trumbull; grandchildren, Charles, Carla, Anthony, Laura, Alicia, Joseph, and Joy; seven great-grandchildren; his sister, Prudenzia Granaudo of Italy; as well as several nieces and nephews survive him.

A son, John Giacobbe; his brothers, Raffaele, Francesco, Angelo, and Louis; and his sister, Rose, predeceased him.

Mr Giacobbe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

He served in the Italian Army during World War II and later worked for Sprague Meter for many years before his retirement. He loved gardening and tending to the flowers; however his greatest enjoyment was found in the time he spent with his family.

Funeral services took place on November 6 at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull, and in St Margaret's Shrine, Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment followed in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.

Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105  or stjude.org.
