Joseph Zamary

Joseph Zamary, 80, of Trumbull, died peacefully September 28. Born December 25, 1937, in Danbury, he was the son of the late John D. and Sadika Zamary. He grew up in the Long Hill area of Trumbull and attended Trumbull public schools.

His siblings and their spouses, John and Brenda Zamary of Newtown, Albert and Evelyn Zamary of Trumbull, Anna and Abraham Matthews of Trumbull, and Mary Zamary of Trumbull; many nieces and nephews; and 23 great-nieces and nephews survive him.

His loved ones say Mr Zamary was a true Christian and always had a smile on his face and made others feel the same. He was an avid Yankees fan, in good times and bad. He enjoyed every game and talking about the Yankees with his family and many close friends.

Mr Zamary managed his brother’s store, Zamary’s Southport Market, for 30 years and was continually there to greet his customers with a warm welcome.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 2, from 10 to 11 am, at Saint Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, 5458 Park Avenue, Bridgeport.

The Rite of Burial will take place Tuesday, October 2, at 11 am, at the church, with the Very Reverend Archpriest Father Romanos Malouf officiating. Interment to follow at Long Hill Cemetery, Trumbull.
