Kenneth Ballard, Jr

Kenneth H. “Ken” Ballard, Jr, 57, of Sandy Hook, died December 5, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, with his wife and children by his side. He was the beloved husband of Dawn Ballard and father of twins, Kenneth and Gracie Ballard. Born in Danbury, he attended Danbury Schools and was a 1979 graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School.

Mr Ballard was a Trustee with Teamsters Local 677, a wholesale driver for Marcus Dairy for 28 years, and most recently a construction driver for Tilcon Inc and I84 Constructors. He was a hard worker who loved his family, his friends, his life, and being outdoors.

Besides his wife and children, his parents, Kenneth Ballard, Sr, and Elizabeth Ballard of Danbury; his siblings and their spouses, Lynne and David Lansford of Fredericksburg, Va., Kevin Ballard of Lantana, Fla., and Amy and Max Capilupi of Brookfield; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and his Teamster Brothers survive him.

Calling Hours will be Sunday, December 9, from 2 to 5 pm, at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury.

His Celebration of Life will be Monday, December 10, at 11 am, in The Newtown United Methodist Church, 92 Church Hill Road, Sandy Hook. Burial to follow at Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.
