Lisa Marie Maroto, 55, of Danbury, died peacefully December 8, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 13, 1963, which will always be a special holiday of family celebration.

Her sisters, JoAnn Soltis and her husband, Robert, of Newtown and Mary Maroto of Danbury; her brother, Michael Maroto of Danbury; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins survive her.

Her loving parents, Blanche Miklaszewski and Joseph Maroto, predeceased her. Her loved ones say she has joined them in Heaven.

Ms Maroto enjoyed the wonderful social programs at Ability Beyond for the majority of her life. She was so proud and loved being a team member at Kimberly Clark for 18 years until she retired in 2012. She was also an artist with a passion for creating beautiful stained glass windows, one of which proudly hangs in Sacred Heart Church. Ms Maroto created a memorable connection with everyone she met, but perhaps no one more than her best friend, Annie Kovacs. Together, they enjoyed music, dancing, camping, swimming, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, the Yankees, holidays, and having fun.

Her loved ones says she “was the heart and soul of our family and friends, and we have all been made richer by her joy, laughter, and love.”

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 11, from 5 to 7 pm, at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 12, at 10:30 am, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 12 Cottage Street, Danbury. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St Peter’s Cemetery, Danbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ability Beyond, 4 Berkshire Boulevard, Bethel CT 06801, or at abilitybeyond.org.
