UPDATE: Due to a winter storm, the library is closed today. All programs have been canceled. || In celebration of the 30th anniversary of The Simpsons, the show’s longest-serving writer and producer offers a humorous look at the writing and making of the legendary Fox series in his book "Springfield Confidential: Jokes, Secrets, and Outright Lies from a Lifetime Writing for The Simpsons." Author Mike Reiss will share some of those stories during a Sunday afternoon program this month at C.H. Booth Library.

Newtown Hikers Announce Winter Schedule

Newtown Hikers, an open group welcoming anyone interested in hiking and the outdoors, has announced its winter 2019 schedule. The first hike of the new season is planned for Saturday, January 5.

First Day Hikes Will Welcome The New Year

On New Year’s Day, America’s State Parks have all 50 states offering free, guided First Day Hike Programs. Nine Connecticut state parks are participating in the event, including Kettletown State Park in Southbury.

CT Woolcrafters Fiber Arts Community is planning its inaugural meeting for January 8 at C.H. Booth Library.
