To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Children’s Book Week, C.H. Booth Library will host an art show by four local author-illustrators, with a panel discussion, on Sunday, May 5. Bruce Degen, Paul Meisel, Ross MacDonald, and Jennifer Thermes are all planning to participate. Illustrations by the four artists will then remain on display for a few additional weeks.

Student finalists in grades K-12 from throughout the state will compete at the Connecticut Invention Convention on the morning of Saturday, May 4. The event is taking place at the University of Connecticut-Storrs campus, and organizers have confirmed to The Newtown Bee that students from Newtown schools are among those competing.
