To The Editor:

I would like to say thank you to everyone who voted on Tuesday in our municipal election and give a special thank you to those in District 2 who voted to re-elect me to Legislative Council. I look forward to serving another term and working my colleagues both new and experienced.

On the council I promise continue to act as an accountability advocate working on behalf of the taxpayers, to continue asking questions and striving for improvement, to seek the highest and best use of our resources, and to always have those families who are struggling to afford living in our community on my mind. After over two terms I know the role of an effective Legislative Council is to provide thorough oversight on behalf of the voters, rather than act as a rubber stamp.

Thank you to everyone who stepped forward to run and did not get elected. It takes a lot of personal effort, time, and spending your own money to put yourself out there to volunteer for an office. I know each of you had something valuable to add and I appreciate that.

Thank you again.

Ryan Knapp, Legislative Council, District 2
