Lucrecia Batista, age 69, of Sandy Hook, passed away peacefully at the Bethel Health Care Center after an extended illness. She was the wife of Jose Batista.

Mrs Batista was born March 26, 1950, in Angola, Africa, the daughter of the late Augustinho and Rita Mateus. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and loved gardening, cooking meals, and entertaining her family, relatives, and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Besides her husband of more than 50 years, Lucrecia is survived her daughters, Maria Fatima Warcholik of Chatsworth, Ga., and Maria Lourdes Batista of Sandy Hook; as well as her two granddaughters, Jessica Muller and Sara Sequeira. Lucrecia’s family would like to thank and acknowledge the dedicated staff of Vitas Innovative Health Care and Acuity Home Care for the love, care, and comfort they shared with Lucrecia and her family throughout her illness.

Funeral services for Mrs Batista will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
