Marguerite Eldridge

Marguerite Nolan Eldridge, of Sandy Hook, passed away on January 31, 2019, at age 96. She was born in Bridgeport on June 2, 1922, a daughter of the late William and Marie (McCormick) Nolan. Marguerite graduated from Central High School in Bridgeport and continued her education at Booth & Balis School of Business.

Mrs Eldridge was employed at Musante, Berman, & Steinberg in Bridgeport as office manager and bookkeeper. Marguerite and her sister, Patricia Nolan Killing, later opened a drive-in restaurant in Newtown. In her retirement, Marguerite volunteered for Meals on Wheels and FISH, providing help to those in her community.

Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Terry Lyman, and son-in-law, Jason Soderlund.

Marguerite is predeceased by her son, Charles L. Eldridge, and her husband, Charles H. Eldridge.

Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Wednesday, February 6, 2019, from 4 to 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Joseph Church, Brookfield, Thursday, February 7, 2019, at 10 am. Interment will be in St Rose Cemetery in the Spring.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs Eldridge requests donations be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
