Marlene M. (Ferko) Husvar, 57, of Oakville, beloved wife of Robert Husvar, died unexpectedly November 15, at Waterbury Hospital. She was born in Bridgeport, February 27, 1961, and was the daughter of loving parents, Marlene (Allen) Ferko and the late Peter Ferko, Sr.

Mrs Husvar was most proud of her career achievements and helping her customers and co-workers for the past 20 years at Newtown Savings Bank.

She grew up in Bridgeport and graduated from Bullard Havens Technical High School in 1978. She studied to become a licensed hairdresser.

An avid NASCAR fan, her favorite driver was Tony Stewart. She enjoyed attending hockey games, cheering for the New Jersey Devils and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. She was a participant of the Watertown and Newtown Citizens Police Academy, an active member in her church, and a volunteer for Relay for Life. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting baby blankets for Carolyn’s Place.

Mrs Husvar was known for her strength, determination, gentle smile, and for being a quiet, fun-loving, dedicated person that embraced life with love. Most of all, she loved life and was truly devoted to her husband, sons, family, and friends. Her loved one say she was undoubtedly a caring and giving person that was ready to help anyone who needed her. She will be sadly missed by those who knew her.

Her loving husband of 38 years, Robert; their cherished sons, Brian and his wife, Jordan, of Plymouth, and Brandon and his wife, Katelyn, of Dublin, Calif.; her loving mother, Marlene Ferko of Bridgeport; her sister, Carol Tibor of Bridgeport; her brother, Peter Ferko, Jr, of Bridgeport; her granddaughter, Madison Husvar of Dublin, Calif.; five nephews; a niece; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Husvar; several brothers- and sisters-in-law; cousins; and a host of friends and extended family survive her. Mrs Husvar loved animals and will be sadly missed by her furry friends.

In addition to her father, her father-in-law, James Husvar, Sr; and brother-in-law, William Tibor, predeceased her.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours Tuesday, November 20, from 5 to 8 pm, at Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main Street, Watertown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 21, at 10 am, in St John’s the Evangelist Church, 574 Main Street, Watertown. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown.
