Martin A. Ohradan, 85, of Easton, loving husband of Mary Rescsanski Ohradan, died October 29. He was born in his home in Easton, April 22, 1933, and was the son of the late Martin and Susan Filip Ohradan.

In addition to his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary, his children, Janet Kardos and her husband, David, of Newtown; Martin J. Ohradan and his wife, Siobhan Smith, of Easton; Michael A. Ohradan and his wife, Sharon, of Easton; Suzanne Ohradan Forsell and her husband, Raymond, of South Burlington, Vt.; Anne Ohradan Gibson of Troy, N.Y.; and Theresa Ohradan of Easton, survive him. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Adrianna Ohradan; Stephen Ohradan; Martin Ohradan; Ellen Barraco and her husband, Justin; Rebecca Forsell; Christopher Forsell and his wife, Kate; Jennifer Forsell; Charles Gibson and his fiancé, Sara; Douglas Gibson; and Michael Gibson; as well as two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

His sisters, Elsie Valovich and Adele Bryant, and a son-in-law, David Gibson, predeceased him.

Mr Ohradan graduated from Bassick High School, Class of 1951. He went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps, First ANGLICO, during the Korean War. After his service, he attended the University of Connecticut, graduating in 1958. Mr Ohradan enjoyed his exciting, wide-ranging career as a Connecticut State Trooper, and after 34 years of service, retired as Sergeant of the Western District Major Crime Squad. He was a member of the Connecticut State Police Alumni Association and the VFW Post 10273.

He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, caring for his home and yard, and spending time with his family and pets.

Calling hours will be Friday, November 2, from 3 to 7 pm, in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield.

Funeral services will take place Saturday, November 3, at 10:15 am, in the funeral home and at 11 am in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, White Plains Road, Trumbull. Burial will follow in Aspetuck Cemetery, Easton, with full Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the Connecticut State Police Academy Alumni Educational Foundation, PO Box 1945, Meriden CT 06450.
