Melissa L. (Scheibel) Miller, 47, former Newtown resident, died October 6 at Regional Hospice of Danbury, while in the presence of her loving husband. She was born on May 19, 1970, in Bridgeport, daughter of Cindy (Hultman) and Edwin Scheibel.areyoudense.org.danburymemorial.com.

Ms Miller graduated from Newtown High School in 1988 and from UConn with a bachelor's degree in English in 1992. She worked as a manager at Applebee's for many years and most recently she worked at Home Depot. She was an avid scrapbooker and loved to capture the memories of her and her loved ones. She served as PTO treasurer for her son's elementary school and as den leader for the Pack 58 Cub Scouts.

Her beloved husband of 16 years, Bill, and their two sons, Christopher and Bryson, of New Milford survive her. Ms Miller is also survived by her parents,Cindy and Ed Scheibel of Bradenton, Fla.; two sisters and their husbands; Sandy and David Schill and Kirsten and Dr Robert Bazuro, all of Sandy Hook; brother-in-law, Bob Dangaard, of Danbury; and mother-in-law, Harriett Miller of Danbury; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to pass along a special thanks to Dr Michael Cohenuram and his staff at the Danbury Hospital Praxair Cancer Center. They would also like to thank the staff at the Regional Hospice in Danbury for their extraordinary care and compassion.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be conducted at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home, 117 South Street, Danbury, on Friday, October 13, from 6 to 8 pm.
