Monthly Nature Programs

For Kids

WOODBURY — Students in kindergarten through grade 5 are invited to participate in “Kids’ Adventure Club” at Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust in Woodbury.

Monthly  nature-related programs are being offered on Saturdays from 10 am to noon at the nature center’s Trail House, near the intersection of Flanders and Church Hill roads.

Participants can all sessions or individual programs. Each program includes explorations of nature on a seasonal theme and will include hikes at the nature center, storytelling, and hands-on activities.

The series will continue on March 11 with “Going Green,” which will tie in St Patrick’s Day lore with wonders of the natural world.

On April 8, “Easter Rabbits and Their Habits” will include an egg hunt and activities with bunny rabbits.

Then on May 13, “Are You My Mother?” will explore animal offspring and include a hike to visit young farm animals at the Flanders barn.

Sessions are $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Registration and prepayment are required. Each program is limited to ten students. Parents may accompany their children at no charge.

Participants should bring a snack and dress for outdoor activities.
