To the Editor:

On behalf of the Newtown Youth Football and Cheer program, we would like to thank our Newtown community for their generous support and donations. Through their kind contributions and the support of local businesses and corporate sponsors, the D14 Cheer team was able to travel to the AYF&C National Championships in Kissimmee, Fla. Where, in spectacular form, 16 eighth graders took home the title of National Champs!

We owe thanks to so many in our community for supporting our team. We would like to thank the businesses that allowed us to raise money at their locations: Bagel Delight, Newtown Hardware, Blue Colony Diner, Starbucks, and Butcher's Best. We greatly appreciate all the patrons of these establishments for their charitable donations. Additionally, we would like to thank Cover Two and My Place Restaurant for hosting give back nights for our team.

Lastly, we would like to thank the Pavlicek Family and the following corporate sponsors: L.Riso & Sons Construction, Peter Clements, Vikram Construction, Preet & B. Construction, S&D Contracting, PVF Holding, LLC, Mac-Testa Contracting Corp., Melcara Corp. D.A.M.P., and A.A.D. Construction Corp. Their generosity was just amazing.

Again, we cannot thank everyone enough for making the dream of a national title a reality.
