New Postmaster Installed At Botsford Post Office

Amid a gathering of family, friends, and co-workers, Nancy Kuszpa, a 24-year veteran of the United States Postal Service (USPS), was installed as Botsfordâs new postmaster in ceremonies at the Botsford Post Office on August 24.
Ms Kuszpa was sworn into office by postal service supervisor William Cournoyer, as Virginia Pratt held the bible upon which Ms Kuszpaâs hand was placed. Ms Kuszpa formerly worked for Ms Pratt at the Plantsville Post Office in Southington.
Albert Stoccatore led the pledge of allegiance. Tracy Medling sang the âStar Spangled Bannerâ acappella.
First Selectman Herbert Rosenthal spoke at the ceremonies, as did Town Historian Daniel Cruson. Mr Cruson, who formerly lived in the Botsford area, discussed the history of the postal service in that southernmost section of town.
Ms Kuszpa replaces former Botsford postmaster Erin Eglington, who was promoted to a customer services position with the postal service in Waterbury.
âWe plan to get involved in the community and do the best job we possibly can. And we can have fun doing it,â Ms Kuszpa said of her plans as Botsfordâs postmaster.
Ms Kuszpa began her postal career as a clerk/carrier at the Plantsville Post Office, and also has served as the officer-in charge at the Marion, Rockfall, and Botsford post offices. She has worked with the USPS revenue generation team.
As the Botsford postmaster, Ms Kuszpa is responsible for the operation of the post officer at 1 Botsford Hill Road. The building contains 220 post office boxes. Ms Kuszpa lives in Plymouth with her husband and two sons.
âAnyone interested in learning about mailing, or the exciting new things the post office offers via the Internet, is always welcome to call or stop into the Botsford Post office. We are always happy to educate the public,â Ms Kuszpa said.
In June, the Botsford Post Office conducted a educational program for young children about stamp collecting.
A reception followed Ms Kuszpaâs installation as the Botsford postmaster.
