What we eat impacts our health. Learn what to look for when shopping in the grocery store. The course will cover the differences between grass-fed and grain-fed beef, when to buy organic, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), artificial sweeteners, high fructose corn syrup and their impact on health, and the benefits of fish oil and fats that are heart healthy.Fused Glass Holiday Ornament/Workshop: Snowflakes - A single session being offered on Tuesday, November 14, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, $49. Guided by a pattern, students will create two beautiful snowflakes using strips and bits of glass. These are a wonderful seasonal decoration for any home. No previous experience necessary. Ornaments will be ready for pickup approximately one week following the workshop. There will be optional specialty glass available for an extra fee. Please wear closed shoes and long pants. The class is not handicap accessible, and it is limited to ten students. Hot cider will be served.Find A Flexible Job & Make Work Fit Life, Online Course - An online course for $99. For those that want flexible, lucrative, resume-worthy work but do not know where to find it. With any job search "sales" tools - such as a resume, a LinkedIn profile and more - are needed, but when looking for a less traditional job a person needs to be even more precise about their personal brand and the specific jobs they can fill. This quick, easy and inexpensive course shares the tools to find a flexible job, which can start and end at attendees' convenience. Note: This is an online course that can be taken any time. Students work independently. Once registered, students will receive an e-mail with course access information. No discounts apply.Holiday Sparkle In The Big Apple - A bus trip to Manhattan, December 2, departs NHS at 9:30 am, $109. The day will begin at Bryant Park for holiday shopping, with more than 125 boutique-like kiosks. Then a full course lunch at Buca Di Beppo in Times Square, a popular Italian eatery served family style. The menu will be house bread, mixed salad and Caesar salad, fettucini Alfredo, spaghetti marinara, Parmigiana, dessert, soft drinks, and coffee. Lunch will be followed by a two-hour guided riding tour of Manhattan's holiday lights with a New York City guide with stops along the way. The group will see the tree at Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue windows, and more. No discounts apply.Integral Qigong And Tai Chi - An eight-class course, starting January 2, 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, $104. Qigong, and later tai chi, were developed and refined over thousands of years with the exact purpose of mindful evolution of body, mind, and spirit.
