Newtown Mother-Son Team Celebrate Collaborative Memoir

Sophfronia Scott and her son Tain Gregory (above, outside Trinity Episcopal Church) on December 3, signed copies of their new memoir, This Child Of Faith: Raising A Spiritual Child in A Secular World, which took them up and down Main Street for various events. Sophfronia and Tain have another meet-and-greet book event scheduled this month, two days after the formal release of their memoir. The pair will be at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 235 Union Street in Waterbury, on Saturday, December 16, from 1 to 3 pm.   (Bee Photo, Bobowick)during the Newtown Holiday Festival. The book came out of a conversation after Tain, who was in his third grade classroom at Sandy Hook School on the morning of 12/14, was asked what the most important thing in the world is to him. After thinking for a moment, the young man reportedly answered with one word: "God." The book, according to publisher Paraclete Press, "is a fascinating look at the journey of two souls ... that began with Tain enrolling in Sunday School and led to a strong life of faith for both of them."
