Newtown High School students in this year's fall drama production of Getting Away With Murder have been rehearsing for next weekend's line up of performances.Getting Away With Murder will be performed at Reed, 3 Trades Lane, Thursday, November 16, through Sunday, November 19. The play will be performed at 7 pm on November 16, 17, and 18. It will also be staged at 2 pm on November 19. Tickets will be sold at the door for $7 for students, $10 for senior citizens, and $12 for adults.Getting Away with Murder, written by Stephen Sondheim and George Furth, was staged on Broadway in the late 1990s. Harrison described the play as a "who done it" with a contemporary feel.

While the students rehearsed at NHS on November 1, the students will soon transition to rehearsing at Reed Intermediate School, where the production will be staged, due to the ongoing work on the NHS auditorium renovation project.

The fall drama is student-run. Advisors on the production are Janice Gabriel and Brian Tenney. NHS senior Harrison Hoffert is directing the production.

While the actors have been rehearsing in the NHS cafetorium, members of the productions crew have been working to build the set at the town garage at Fairfield Hills. Later this week, the set and rehearsals are expected to transition to Reed.
