Occupation: I am the director of transportation for the Newtown Board of Education. I like the challenge of the job and the people I work with. No two days are ever the same.

Biggest Change You Have Seen In Town: Although I have only been working in Newtown since the beginning of 2004, I actually have seen a tremendous growth in housing development and traffic.

Family: I have been married to my wife, Debbie, for 35 years. We have four kids: Dawn, Christina, Anthony, and Rachel. I also have a daughter-in-law named Omayra and a granddaughter, Natalia.

Pets: We have a cage full of finches. We’ve had them for about three years; they’re really more my wife’s, she wanted them.

Hobbies and Interests: I like sports, especially bowling and baseball. I’m a musician. I play drums and sing. I started playing the drums in grammar school. I play in a band called Rockin’ Heartbeats. We travel throughout Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts playing gigs. I appeared in the Woody Allen film Broadway Danny Rose as a drummer. I also have played The Sands in Atlantic City, which was a real rush. For me music is a great stress reliever. When I play it just puts me in a different place.

Favorite Books and Authors: I like self-help books. I would recommend two books: Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude by W. Clement Stone and Think And Grow Rich by Norman Vincent Peale. If you read them and really reflect on what they say, you can take almost any negative situation and make a positive out of it by applying what is taught in these books.

Favorite Television Show: I like action dramas. Right now I’m hooked on the television show 24. It’s a great show. I look forward to it every Monday night or if I’m not home I’m running the VCR taping it.

Favorite Vacation Spot: I have two. I like going to Disney World and the Pennsylvania Dutch country.

Organizations: I belong to the American Federation of Musicians. I used to always coach youth baseball when my kids were growing up.

Most Vivid Memory About Being In Newtown: I remember the first couple of times I played in my band at the Botsford Firehouse Carnival and the Sandy Hook Lobsterfest and the bus drivers that work with me came to the functions. You should have seen the surprised look on their faces when they saw me playing and singing in a band. It was just so out of the regular element for me, that they were use to.

Personal Philosophy: If you make a commitment make sure that you follow through with it.
