Pinewood Derby

On February 9, Pack 470 held its Annual Pinewood Derby in the highest fashion at Head O’ Meadow School. Breakfast began at 8 am with fancy options from blueberry pancakes to egg soufflé. Throughout the morning, bagels, donuts, health bars, “real” juice, coffee, and tea were readily available to all.

Events and First Place winners included Raingutter Regatta, Tim Davis; Space Derby, Jason Silkowski; Pinewood Rookie Cars, Eddie Henderson; and Pinewood Veteran Cars, Alexander Klang. As usual, competition was fierce and the usual scouting spirit of good sportsmanship prevailed.

Approximately 280 people attended this action-packed event and special thanks goes to Cubmaster Bob Campbell and committee chairman Mitch Bolinsky, and the tremendous help that was forthcoming from a broad array of active parents. Congratulations to the young scouts for their hard work in designing their racers and to the adult leadership in organizing such a memorable event.
