Palm Sunday Concert Will Open Holy Week

On Palm Sunday, March 28, at 4 pm, the St Rose Festival Choir, under the direction of Joseph J. Jacovino Jr., will present a Lenten Concert to mark the beginning of Holy Week. The program, which will be approximately one hour, will be presented without intermission, in the style of a prayer service, and will feature the 50 voice SATB choir, soloists, and readers, who will offer Lenten readings and reflections interspersed with the music. Musical selections will include Purifoy’s Shouts of Hosanna, Palestrina’s Adoramus Te Christe/O Bone Jesu, Stainer’s “God So Loved the World,” Berry’s “Into Your Hands,” Joseph Martin’s Song of the Shadows (A Cantata for Choir, Soloists, and Narrator) and Mozart’s “Lacrymosa” (from Requiem Mass).
