The Newtown Panthers returned home champions of the U14 division in their inaugural season outing at the Fairfield Fast Tournament during Labor Day weekend.

Newtown beat Fairfield with 5-0 behind the goal-scoring prowess of Alex Futterman, Charli Condon, and Maggie Beardsley.

The Panthers prevailed over Wilton 2-1 in their second game, with a second goal by Futterman, who split her goaltending duties with field time.

Seemless passing by Catherine Shaw, Ashley Santore, and Priya Deraney allowed the Panthers to keep the ball within striking distance of goal for most of their game against Trumbull in a 6-0 triumph. Audrey Sedensky connected for three goals, and Mary Hufziger drove the ball into the net for her first goal of the season in the victory.

The Panthers sealed their championship with a 5-0 victory over Darien, led by Greta Staubly, Isabella Jimenez, and  Jackie Gouveia.
