Newtown First Selectman Pat Llodra was honored with a scholarship fund named after her by the Women’s Campaign School (WCS) at Yale University during a ceremony held on June 30. 

Both Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman and Senator Richard Blumenthal joined WCS in recognizing Selectman Llodra as a true CT leader.

During that event, the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University announced the establishment of the Patricia Llodra Scholarship Fund to support women leaders who have had to endure unexpected tragedy, who have given a strong voice to the voiceless, and who have led their communities toward healing by working collaboratively and across the political aisle for the greater good.

“I am deeply honored to have been recognized by the [Women’s Campaign School] and am especially humbled that the school has named a scholarship in my name. It is greatly rewarding on a personal level to think that I have an opportunity to positively influence the future through the actions of a leader identified by the [Women’s Campaign School] as a recipient of the scholarship in my name. This is a gift of legacy that is both humbling and rewarding,” Mrs Llodra said.

The Women’s Campaign School at Yale University is a nonpartisan, issue-neutral leadership program, whose mission is to increase the number and influence of women in elected and appointed office in the United States and around the globe.
