Failure To Respond

Police said that on the morning of March 27, they arrested Elizabeth Schultz, 27, of Bunnell, Fla., at the police station on a warrant, charging her with failure to respond to an infraction. That charge stems from two dog violations that Schultz received in July 2016.

Schultz went to court on March 27 and pleaded not guilty to all three charges. She is scheduled to return to court on April 10.

Violations Lodged

Police report that at about 9:38 pm on March 26, they stopped motorist Christopher Craddock, 29, of Bridgeport, near 139 Toddy Hill Road to investigate.

Police said they charged Craddock with improper use of a marker plate and with failure to display a marker plate. Police said they also learned that there was a pending warrant for Craddock, and then additionally charged him with failure to respond to a payable violation in connection with Craddock's not having responded to an infraction ticket, which he received in August 2015 in Bridgeport.

Following processing, police released Craddock on $250 bail overall for court appearances on April 11 and April 12 to answer the charges.

Hattertown DUI

Police report they received a call about 8:13 pm on March 24 from a motorist who had observed an erratically driven 2003 Hyundai Elantra traveling southward on Hattertown Road, near that road's intersection with Key Rock Road, so they went to Hattertown Road to investigate.

Police said they found the vehicle in question parked near the intersection of Hattertown Road and Hi Barlow Road and investigated, charging motorist Margaret Iodice, 52, of Bridgeport with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, and failure to drive in the proper lane.

Following processing, police released Iodice on $500 bail for an April 6 court appearance.

Following arrest processing, police released Mallon on $125 bail for an April 4 arraignment on the charges in state Superior Court in Danbury.

Motorist Young Kim, 70, of Cambridge, Mass., was driving a 2004 Honda Accord westward on Interstate 84, west of Exit 10, about 10:25 am on March 23, when the auto struck some debris lying in the road, resulting in the two tires on the vehicle's passenger side going flat, state police report.

After the Honda hit the debris, the debris lifted off the ground and struck the front end of a 2011 Ford Expedition SUV driven by David Poynton, 53, of Riverton, state police said.

There were no injuries. State police took no enforcement.

State police said a 70-year-old New Jersey man, who was driving a 2014 Ford Escape SUV, stopped in heavy traffic on eastbound I-84, west of Exit 11, at about 5:20 pm on March 21, after which the Ford was struck from behind by motorist Robinson Robles, 20, of Danbury, who was driving a 2003 Dodge Caravan minivan.

The Dodge then left the scene of the crash and attempted to get off the highway at the Exit 11 off-ramp, but the Ford's driver followed the Dodge and noted the Dodge's marker plate information, state police said.

The Dodge then backed up from a stop and struck the Ford's front end, after which the Dodge drove down the off-ramp's shoulder to get away from the Ford, state police said.

State police were alerted of the situation and found Robles, who was driving the Dodge. There were no injuries in either collision.
