Regina Chanda Raslavsky

Regina Chanda Raslavsky, 96, of Stratford and Newtown, the beloved wife of the late John Raslavsky, died April 23, in Glen Hill Center, with her loving family by her side. She was born November 8, 1916, in Stratford and was the daughter of Stephen and Julia Pjura Chanda.

Two daughters, Kathleen Hardy, and husband Robert, Sr, of Sandy Hook and Joanne Siergiej, and husband Edward, of Danbury; a son, John M. Raslavsky III, and wife Jo-Ann, of Arizona; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Daniel Chanda; three sisters, Dr Catherine Anderson, Margaret Gorlo, and Frances Roberts; and several nieces and nephews survive Mrs Raslavsky. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, four brothers and four sisters predeceased her.

She was employed by the town of Stratford as the secretary for the health department for many years, and was a long time member of the Holy Name of Jesus Church.

Funeral services will take place Friday, April 26, at 9 am, in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford, and at 10 am in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue, Stratford, where the Reverend Andrew Marus will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St John’s Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Thursday, April 25, from 4 to 7 pm, in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home.
