Robert T. Wilkes, Jr, 71, formerly of Newtown, died July 29. He was born in Danbury, the son of Mabel (Petitt) and Robert Wilkes Sr.

Mr Wilkes retired as real estate manager for the US Postal Service, and moved to Florida in 2000. 

He was an active member of the Brookridge Community, and was employed by the local EXIT Realty Success Company.

His wife Judith; daughter Kelly, and husband Charles E. Norman III; son Robert Wilkes III, and wife Amy H.; and grandchildren Samantha J. Norman, Charles E. Norman, Madelyn J. Wilkes, and Robert T. Wilkes IV survive Mr Wilkes.

Inurnment will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla., at a later date.
