Rudolph A. Hrabcsak

Rudolph "Rudy" Hrabcsak, 86, of Danbury died at Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut on August 30. He was the beloved husband of Lucille A. (Natale) Hrabcsak. Born in Muse, Penn., he was the son of the late Mary and Michael Hrabcsak.

Besides his wife, his son David Hrabcsak and wife, Karen, of Newtown, and their children, Sean and Eric; his daughter Sharon Hrabcsak of Danbury, and her children, Mia and Maggie; and his sister Irene Patronie of Danbury survive him. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends. His parents; brothers Michael, Stephen, and Edward Hrabcsak; and his sister Mary D'Addario predeceased him.

Mr Hrabcsak attended schools in Muse and moved to Danbury, graduating from Danbury High School in 1949. He then served in the US Army.

He began his career as a union carpenter. Mr Hrabcsak was involved in the construction of the current Danbury High School and of Danbury Hospital. He owned Rucon Kitchens, which he opened in 1966 and operated with his son, David, until his retirement in 2013.

An active member of St Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Danbury, he was a member of the Holy Name Society. A kind and gentle man, Mr Hrabcsak was well respected by all who knew him.

The family would also like to extend their deep appreciation to the angels of Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut for their love and kindness.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, September 3, at St Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 13 Pembroke Road, Danbury, with the Reverend Ronald J. Hatton officiating. Friends will be received  at the church from 9 to 9:45 am.

Interment will follow in St Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
