Sandy Hook Elementary Spring Gala Reminder

Sandy Hook Elementary School parents, faculty, parent-alum will be attending the schools’ Evening Gala, a fundraising event that has not happened for seven years, on Saturday, March 13, at 6 pm at the Amber Room in Danbury.

Playground updates and Sandy Hook School cultural arts programming initiatives will benefit from the gala’s proceeds.  

The evening includes a three-course dinner, dancing to the band Suburban Legend, and both a silent and live auction. School faculty, parents, and local businesses have donated auction merchandize valued at more than $14,000 for the event. Attendees will be able to bid on items, including a behind-the-scenes tour at NBC’s Nightly News, a Disney vacation, and a six-person catered dinner.

The silent auction contains jewelry, handbags, golf outings, turnkey birthday party planning, fitness packages, home improvement services, and more.

There will also be a balloon pop mystery auction, with item tickets inside the balloons.

“We’ve wanted to refurbish our playground for a long time. I think this will finally be possible thanks to the hard work of our PTA, the generosity of our parents, staff, and greater community, and the enthusiasm of everyone participating. I look forward to a great evening,” school Principal Donna Pagé said.
