 “Walk and Talk: The Benefits of Walking,” 9 am, Newtown Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road, free program led by Danbury VNA physical therapist will discuss and illustrate the cardiovascular benefits of walking, while walking from the senior center toward Sandy Hook School and back, water provided; 426-6264.

VFW Family Picnic, begins 11 am, VFW Post 308, 18 Tinkerfield Road, donation $15 ($30 max/family), grilled foods, raw clams, salads, corn, etc, also water slide, music, fun for all ages, proceeds to benefit VFW Veterans Fund; 426-9316.

Sandy Hook Village Concerts in the Park: Ron Jones, 7 pm, Sandy Hook Village Park, Glen Road at Church Hill Road, free performance by Philadelphia resident will include smooth jazz and showtunes on saxophone, bring seating, light refreshments available.
