Saturday Night Open Mic Returning December 5

Attention young musicians, poets, magicians, and more: Saturday Night Open Mic returns Saturday, December 5, from 7:30 to 9:30 pm, in The Great Room at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street.

The featured band for December is Adventure Hat.

Saturday Night Open Mic is designed for high school and middle school youth. Performers grades 5 and 6 are also welcome.

Microphones, keyboard, guitar amp and more will be available.

Doors open by 7 pm for those who wish to arrive early and wait to sign up, which begins at 7:15. There is space for about twenty performers so the time limit per spot is about five minutes. Sign-up is first come, first serve.

Youth under grade six must have a parent or guardian present.

A welcoming atmosphere, featured artist/band and an enthusiastic all-ages audience makes this a great night every time.

Suggested donation is $1. Adult family members are invited to bring a simple drink or snack to share, such as baked goods, chips, pretzels, etc. Coffee and tea will be available.

Saturday Night Open Mic is sponsored The Music Workshop and hosted by Newtown Congregational Church with the support of NHS Tech Team, Newtown Cultural Arts Commission, and Avance Esthetique Day Spa.

The first Saturday Night Open Mic of the new year will be on January 30.
