SCAN Spring Show June 15-22; Reception & Awards Ceremony Sunday Afternoon

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown, Inc. (SCAN) will present its 43rd Annual Spring Juried Art Show at Cyrenius H. Booth Library for eight days this month.

The will run from Saturday, June 15, to Saturday, June 22, at the library, 25 Main Street in Newtown. An opening reception and awards ceremony is planned for Sunday, June 16, from 2 to 4 pm. Over $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded.  The public is invited to view the exhibition, enjoy refreshments, and meet many of the participating artists during the reception.

Some of the finest traditional as well as contemporary artists will be exhibiting their works in oils, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, mixed media, graphics and sculpture. The jury of selection and awards includes the artists Patty Keville Fogle, James Grashow, and Doug Leigh.

The exhibition can be viewed any time the library is open, when the meeting room is not in use: Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am to 8 pm; Friday, 11 am to 5 pm; Saturday, 9:30 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, noon to 5 pm.
