Local readers are less just one week away from the inaugural Connecticut Book Festivals (CBF) Newtown Author Festival, and preparations are in full swing.

A quick search of articles on The Bee's website debunk most of these claims. Mitch has done an incredible job on infrastructure, opposed tax increases and has been honored multiple times for his bipartisan work for our seniors. I have faith that Newtown voters are more intelligent than Lynn presumes.
Do you really think people who are going to commit violent crime care at all about gun laws? They may however, think twice about committing said violent crime if they fear a violent response...
I read Jim Gaston’s letter supporting Rob Blanchard and found the way Mr. Blanchard’s connection to Newtown was presented somewhat disingenuous.
Mr. Gaston repeatedly describes Mr. Blanchard as a “neighbor” and emphasizes his connection to “our communities” and his decision to put down “permanent roots” in Newtown. But the relevant context is that Mr. Blanchard is a very recent Newtown resident. Frankly, I have food in my refrigerator that has been in Newtown longer than he has.
